September 28th found us in Porto Kagio, a very small village on our way towards Turkey. Per usual 'something broke' on the trek (the transom remote quit working) which meant getting off the boat and into the dingy would be challenging. I didn't get any shots of us descending Belvedere to show just what a feat that is but it did have me happy we chose to do this at this point in our lives. If we were any older, this story may have ended differently!
Luckily, it ended with a brewski at Tavern Porto on the very night they were closing for the season and we got to experience this amazing place. It is one of those things we'd never had found by way of car or normal tourist routes. The places you get to see by boat give such a different view of the world. You put up with many issues you'd never contemplate on dry land as existing—but somehow it all works out in your favour.
As I write this it is Thursday, September 30th and we are safely tucked in a small bay on Elafonisos to ride out the 30-50 knot winds that would make travel a special kind of hell. We expect to be here until Tuesday when the swells and winds should be manageable enough for us to make the crossing to Turkey. Our Friends Dave and Tina are eagerly awaiting our arrival as they've surely had enough of just each others' company. The fact that they eagerly await our arrival tell you that much…
Did they make you turn in your American spelling when you married a Brit? (BTW, I have very much enjoyed your travels and pix!)
Great views! Thanks for sharing your adventures 😍
